We’re confirmed for two Chicago dates:
The full band at Beat Kitchen on Saturday 12/3, with The Life And Times and All Eyes West.
J Robbins acoustic (Gordon Withers accompanies) on Sunday 12/4, at Million Yen Studios, with Bob Nanaa opening. This is an early show at 7pm, no one admitted after 7:30. Space is extremely limited and it will sell out.

J. ROBBINS is coming to Cambridge!
The former frontman for JAWBOX, BURNING AIRLINES, and CHANNELS will perform a rare acoustic set featuring songs from those past bands and his newest band, OFFICE OF FUTURE PLANS.
Along with cellist Gordon WITHERS of OFFICE OF FUTURE PLANS (whose self-titled debut LP will be released by Dischord Records on November 21, 2011), J. will be digging into the catalog of songs he’s written over the past two decades.
It’s been over seven years since J. ROBBINS last played a show of any kind in this area and it’s been ten to fifteen years since he’s played some of these JAWBOX and BURNING AIRLINES songs! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see this legendary guitarist, songwriter, & bandleader play some of the highlights of his songbook in an intimate setting.

The Pauses Go On Tour
Day 5 - 12:45 pm. We’re on the wind-down. Amazing to think that we’re closing up shop on this little tour and don’t have the desire to simultaneously strangle the life out of each other. Maybe this whole thing will work after all. Then again, we do still have one more show tonight, so maybe this assumption is a little premature.
After last night’s show in DC we could easily just retire from music altogether without all the violence and squeezing and flailing. Office of Future plans flat out demolished the DC9. Shame cause it was such an awesome club. I’m sure some monument to the show will be erected from the ashes.
We are privileged enough to get our grubby little hands on an advanced copy of the album and, just based on what we heard last night, you may not want to talk to us for a while if you don’t want to constantly hear us gushing about it. But, you know, just in case you were looking for the greatest thing that’s ever existed in the world, this is sure to be it. They also could not have been more accommodating and full of things to say that I’m already having etched into my tombstone. We really can not turn around and get back up here fast enough to impose ourselves on these guys some more.
We’re on the road to our final show at Motorco in Durham, NC tonight with Joe Hall (of Hammer No More The Fingers). If all the shows that have lead up to it have set a precedence, then the venue is sure to be entirely constructed from flights and flights of endless staircases that we have to load in on while concurrently playing our set and loading out. Seriously, by the time we return home, it’ll be like we just got released off a five-year prison sentence; all ripped and book smart. But don’t worry ladies, we’ve balanced it out nicely with not actually reading books and only eating fries doused in gravy and cheese. It’s always been our pledge to be as un-intimidating as possible.

These guys are too nice, and seriously rocked DC9 in their own right. We are thrilled to have had the chance to play with them, and hope to do so again in the near future! Make sure to check out their debut album, produced by our own J. Robbins, and featuring Gordon’s cello on a couple tracks.

Our pals The Pauses have dubbed their current mini-tour the “Come on Irene” tour. How cruel and ironic that a Florida band goes north, only to be right in the path of a hurricane!
They’re at BIMAFest (Fraziers) tomorrow night (weather permitting), then we play together Sunday night at DC9!

We’re very excited to be playing with The Pauses - J. produced their acclaimed debut A Cautionary Tale, and Gordon played cello on a few songs. They’re actually playing down the street from Golden West at Frazier’s on Saturday at 8:30, right before our show - so if you’re coming to BIMAFest make sure to check them out too!
